Objectives

  • To ensure education and protection of children.
  • Enhanced health and nutritional conditions of children in the community.
  • Improved livelihood options for youths and parents of the community.
  • Empowered CBOs.
  • Introducing Community Ambassador Model (CAM).

Results and Achievement

  1. 20 ASCs recently handed over to youths of 20 target villages with minimal support from the office by signing an agreement on Functional Model of ASC and Support Mechanism
  1. Linkage established with Child-Line & Child Welfare Committee. Workshop on Child protection/Child rights organized in collaboration with them.
  1. Organized child friendly activities like games and sports, talent search and other recreational activities apart from observing important National and Global events. Conducting these programs helped children to ease their anxious mind caused by the Pandemic
  2. Core working group formed in 22 target villages to assist ASHA in their endeavour in village health issues.
  3. Free open defecation in the 22 target villages as a result of awareness workshops on basic health care, hygiene and sanitation campaign.
  4. Conducted Covid-19 vaccination for eligible age group in all the 22 target villages.
  5. 95% of all eligible children of the target community children were vaccinated on Measles, Diptheria, Pertusis, Tetanus, JE and BCG.
  6. Hygiene and sanitation maintained in the target villages through observation of cleanliness drive (Swatch Bharat) by ASHA and core working group
  7. Linkage/collaboration with various government departments like Agriculture Department, District Health Society, PHED, CWC, Childline etc.

RURAL AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

The rural children are most often cultivating the habit of silly loitering in and around their villages after the school dismissed. Meantime, parents are getting off for their agriculture works in forest. Therefore, this program aims to avoid in risky behaviours among the childhood days and contribute to desired outcomes such as, improved academic performance, to alleviate school drop-outs and to create positive child development.

Objectives

Spiritual Transformation: Teaching children how to pray, about God, memorising Bible verses, and teaching Children Catechism in different age group of 0-15 years.

Physical Development: A regular provision of nutritional food supplement, health check-up, and organising awareness program for parents on Health & Hygiene. Financial assistance for 50% of school monthly tuition fees is also granted.

Social & Moral Ethics: Imparting social and social values to the children, Birth Day celebrations, organised World Environment Day and Cleanliness Drive

Cognitive Development: Learning tools (LSRW) are provided to every Centres. Remedial classes and co-curricular activities are conduct as on week-end routine.

EDUCATION

READS nurtured 6 High Schools and 13 Primary and Lower Primary schools across the northeastern states of Mizoram, Assam and Manipur. Most of the schools are manage by the Project management Committees. There are 2 residential schools and 1 orphanage Home too.
